Are your products certified organic?
At Whitherward Farm, we use organic methods to grow the best flowers, fruits, herbs, and vegetables. While our produce products aren't certified organic just yet, we're currently working with the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) to reach our goal of becoming certified organic by 2025. Additionally, our fresh eggs and natural goat milk soap come from healthy, happy animals that never receive feed containing genetically modified ingredients.
What do you feed your animals?
All of our animals at Whitherward Farm get exclusively fed Kalmbach Feeds All Natural Non-GMO products, locally sourced hay, and goodies like the produce we grow. Is your produce free from harmful chemicals?
At Whitherward Farm, we use organic methods to grow the best flowers, fruits, herbs, and vegetables. While our produce products aren't certified organic just yet, we're currently working with the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) to reach our goal of becoming certified organic by 2025. We utilize only the most natural products and methods to control garden pests.
What should I bring & wear?
As we all know, the weather can change very quickly in Ohio, so we advise that people prepare for their visit to Whitherward Farm by dressing like a farmer. Also, watch the weather! You'll be mostly outdoors so, dress in layers. Pack a sweatshirt or light jacket even if it'll be warm. Heavier jackets, hats, and gloves are best on colder days. Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes or waterproof boots with tread so that you'll be comfortable walking in the fields. It can be damp, and no one likes wet toes. Make sure whatever you're wearing can get dirty, and long pants or jeans are preferable. If there's rain coming, make sure you bring a poncho or jacket that'll keep you dry. Don't forget to bring your sunscreen, bug repellant, and something to drink so that you'll be comfortable when the sun shines and the bees are abuzz! Packed lunches, coolers, and backpacks are also welcome.
What do you grow?
It'd take forever to individually list all of the things that we grow here at Whitherward Farm. We focus on quality produce, specialty fowl, Nigerian dwarf goats, quail and chicken eggs, herbs and lavender, and cut flowers. While our produce, herbs, and flowers will vary with the seasons, please know that our selection will likely have the staples and a few oddities in the mix.
Can I bring my pet?
Here at Whitherward Farm, pets aren't generally allowed, and your cooperation is appreciated. We make exceptions for specially trained service animals. This policy doesn't include emotional support animals; only certified service animals trained for a specific task are allowed. We have this policy in place for many reasons, including state mandates, food safety, guest safety, and the safety of our farm animals. If you've booked a private Rustic Farm Photography session, you may bring your *leashed pets. Please understand that any damages incurred due to uncontrolled visiting pets during photography sessions will be your full legal responsibility.
